Last month Ken and I started plotting our ideas for the table spreads at the Pitchfork and WFMU record fairs this year. With Pitchfork quickly approaching, we started brainstorming at lunch and thought it would be cool to create a colorful and large Numero sign that would stand out across each room. Above is our initial mock up with the iconic image of Trevor Dandy laying across the Numero portion of the sign and all of our LP’s below him. It didn’t take me long to think of my quick witted multimedia pal and Sandwich Shop employee, Thea Lux, to see if she could lend us her imagination, keen eye for color, and steady hand with this painting.
After scrapping the bottom portion of the sign due to size restrictions on the tennis courts at P-Fork, we opted for a straight sign and had Thea sketch out the 6×3 piece for us to carve out on a piece of plywood with a jigsaw. She just sent us a picture of her progress thus far and we’re pretty excited to say the least!

The top sketch makes me think that after you run out of the baseball cards, you should make Numero bingo cards to include with releases.
