Lots of folks with desk jobs have the week off… not us! We’re still handcuffed to our desks doing fun activities like entering numbers into spreadsheets and preparing for the next batch of new releases. Since we doubt we’ll be able to pull you away from returning argyle socks to departments stores to read anything deep and poetic, we’re offering something that can be quickly enjoyed: photos from our deep vaults (some of which may just turn up in future releases… we promise nothing.)

We’re just not qualified to wish you the extraordinarily Merry Christmas that we hope you have… we had to bring in Shirley to emphasize the point. In case you’re wondering what other kinds of odd stuff we sometimes find while dusting off boxes of neglected master tapes, Shirley will give you some idea. [Shirley might just be the best thing we've ever found in a rotted old basement. Technically a partially finished basement, in this case (no breathing apparatus necessary).] Shirley, if you’re out there, please get in touch with us (even if its to tell us to take your photo down). We’d love to learn more about you (and maybe find out why this photo came to be where this was unearthed). To the rest of Numero lovers and haters out there: Feliz Navidad from Little Village One-Stop!
Forget the Grammy “nod”, we’re far more excited about this homespun (literally) Numero logo that Lucy made for her boyfriend (delivered to us via our friend Nick in Wisconsin). Apparently it was not even for a birthday or Christmas present, this level of craftmanship is a daily operation for Lucy.

We just got another cool batch of photos from last November’s Eccentric Soul Revue. These come courtesy of Andreas Vingaard, friend of the label and film collector extraordinaire.
Andreas was born and raised in Denmark. He has been based in New York for two and a half years, freelancing as a photographer and video journalist and worked on assignments all across Europe, Iraq, Lebanon, Haiti among many places. He also helped bring modern funk 45 by Queen Eve & The Kings to life.

His interest in cinema could be easily described as “Numero-esque” if you’re prone to using such made-up words. We’re really hoping to work with him on some future projects.
Also, don’t miss out on the March 25th screening of Under the Influence of Ego Trip at the Maysles Cinema in Harlem which Andreas helped curate. A rare chance to see two lesser known hip hop documentaries with Schoolly D, Bill Adler and Dutch director Bram van Splunteren present. Also, all-time greatest magazine Ego Trip has something to do with it… hopefully this is enough to get some of our friends and blog readers out to see it.

Here’s a few new wallpapers you can throw up on your desktop. The first two come from our new DVD, Celestial Navigations: The Short Films of Al Jarnow, and the third is a scan of a hand drawn/collaged greeting card created for the Boddie Recording Studio that we scanned in for an upcoming release. Reservations are suggested for the best sound in Cleveland!
This great photo was sent to us by Numerophile, Patrice J, who “spent all her money” at our Pitchfork table.
As another brutal winter comes to an end for those of us living East of the Mississippi, I know everyone here at Camp Numero looks forward to the approaching spring when we can kick it on the boulevard Trevor Dandy style! Our second gospel compilation, Numero 030, is *really* coming together and we’re looking forward to sharing some more info about the release in the coming weeks. For now, don’t cry little tree. Don’t cry…
Here’s a wallpaper for you of the ultra rare LT & the Soulful Dynamics 45″ coming atcha’ ears this spring on our 27th release, Eccentric Soul: The Solo Label.
The first in a series of photos to wallpaper your desktop with and, in this case, possibly pique your colleagues’ interest as to what esoteric set of trading cards this might be.
