It seems like years ago that our own Rob Sevier was approached by Amoeba Records to participate in their ongoing What’s In My Bag series. Never one to just merely go along for the ride, Sevier deconstructed the entire process, digging into past WIMB’s and adding his own idiosyncratic commentary. He also somehow managed to finagle his way into being the interviewer behind a Cheech Marin WIMB. And then nothing happened. The footage sat on Digital 8 in some dark room in the back of Amoeba Hollywood and the editors passed over Rob’s unique flip for the curious musings on David Bowie by Crystal Antlers.
With the suspense building over years, we were thrilled to see what must be the longest WIMB ever (nearly 15 minutes!) go live yesterday. Rob still owns that shirt, and yes, ISM is a common term thrown around the office.
Amoeba’s embed function is as wonky as the US Army’s embedded journalist concept for the war in Iraq, so you’ll have to jump to their site to watch.
