Dick Clark’s influence is being discussed in every possible format, and we can’t begin to comment with any real knowledge about his career. The fact is, we seemingly live on polar ends of the spectrum: he was obsessed with the hits, we’re obsessed with the misses (or, shots never fired, depending on the situation.) However, there is no doubt that the underdogs of the business benefited from Dick’s enthusiasm. A number of our artists have told us of positive encounters with Dick, but there’s only one we have on tape:

Here, Mr. Clark gives love to Julian Leal’s single “Get Away”, which features on the forthcoming 044 Buttons compilation. It’s hard not to be inspired by the man’s love for music. He will be missed.
