This Saturday, June 16th at Hollywood Cemetery come enjoy an evening of lowrider soul, latin funk, and the funniest cinematic stereotypes ever created. The gates open at 7:30 and the film begins at 9pm. More details at Cinespia website. Director Lou Adler, a character not to be missed, will be on hand to talk about the production and reminisce with some very special guests. Rob Sevier of the Numero Group will curate a selection of obscurities, playing original vinyl sources for Numero releases past, present, and future. Come enjoy the movie and music and the contents of your picnic basket, but the alert listener will be getting some privileged advance previews of what’s to come in the ensuing months and years from the Numero Group. Of course, the focus will be soul “oldies” that are of lowrider interest.
