Numero Group: By The Numbers

When labels go wrong, a primer in printing

Today we got the final two Omnibus 45s in the warehouse. One was a simple black on white, the other… a difficult PMS color involving 12 parts white and 4 parts reflex blue. On the right hand side is the Fly By Night label before being heated for pressing. On the left is it s baked counterpart. Where’d the blue go? The simple answer is that the white ate it up. You hear warnings about these types of things happening… you never believe it’s going to happen to your record. And then it does.

Apologies in advance for the slip up, if you saw how the Morning After went from pink to orange as expected, you’d think we were geniuses.
